Wind farms threaten birds

Research conducted by the Estonian non-governmental organization for forests – Estonian Forest Aid (Eesti Metsa Abiks – EMA) – has shown that the threat posed by wind turbines applies to many bird species, including the black stork (Ciconia nigra), the greater spotted eagle (Clanga clanga), the golden eagle (Aquila chrysaetos), the Eurasian curlew (Numenius arquata) and the bearded vulture (Gypaetus barbatus). Wind farms affect, among other things, the number of breeding pairs.
