Breeding pairs in Poland

In Poland in 2018 according to the initiative „Registry of Rare Birds” (Kartoteka Rzadkich Ptaków) there were 12 breeding pairs of greater spotted eagle Clanga clanga („Kartoteka Rzadkich Ptaków w Polsce w roku 2018 – gatunki lęgowe”; Arkadiusz Sikora et al.; Ornis Polonica 2020, 61: 259–283). This result has been stable in 2000 to 2018. In the following report of „Registry of Rare Birds” („Kartoteka Rzadkich Ptaków w Polsce w roku 2019 – gatunki lęgowe” (Łukasz Ławicki et al.; Ornis Polonica 2021, 62: 310–338)) the breeding pairs were estimated on 17 (including 8 pure pairs). According to the report of „Registry of Rare Birds” („Kartoteka Rzadkich Ptaków w Polsce w roku 2021 –gatunki lęgowe” (Szymon Beuch et al.; Ornis Polonica 2023, 64: 313-351)) in 2021 there were 18 pairs.

Data from „Monitoring of greater spotted eagle” (Monitoringu Orlika Grubodziobowego (MOG)) report 19 pairs in 2023. For comparison 11 pairs were indicated in 2020 and 18 ones in 2021.
