Migration monitoring results of Greater Spotted Eagles from Polesie – wintering sites

The authors of the post published on a webpage of Ukrainian Center of Birds of Preys – A. Simon, S. Domashevsky, M. Franchuk, and O. Panchuk – analyzed the distribution of Greater Spotted Eagles during the 2019–2022 winter period, taking into account data from December 1 to February 28. The wintering sites of three Greater Spotted Eagles equipped with GPS/GSM transmitters were observed, designated LSEA03, LSEA11 and LSEA09.
The authors conclude that young Greater Spotted Eagles do not have permanent wintering grounds in their first years of life.
